In preparation for baby brother we set up a big boy bed in Luke's room in February. For a while he thought it was fun to play on but had no interest in sleeping in it. One night he tried it out but that only lasted four hours. He was happy to tell you that the crib was for baby brother but he wasn't ready to give it up yet. Until two weeks ago. One day, annoyed that the crib rail wasn't easy to put up and down for Luke to climb in and out (as I am not supposed to be lifting him), I told him that that was it, he was going to sleep in his big boy bed that night. With only a few minutes of crying, he fell asleep. I was sure he'd be up a few hours later, but was proved wrong after a full night's sleep. Since that day, Luke's done all his sleeping in his big boy bed. He doesn't get out unless we tell him he can, he sleeps soundly, and he doesn't complain about it. I was so happy for the easy transition. The crib in his room has now been raised up and readied for baby brother.
